At the mention of him not backing down, Sami’s smile faltered, and for a brief moment his eyes flashed with the emotions he’d been bottling up inside. He was weary, exhausted both physically and emotionally by all the beatings, and he was glad the darkening evening sky provided some cover in terms of hiding the bruising under his eyes. Nothing ever got him down, Sami made sure of that, but these were some trying times, and they were taking their toll on him. How long he was going to be able to keep it up? Quickly, he pulled his lips back up into a smile. “I’m-” He paused, searching for the right words. “I’m managing, Nikki.” he finished, lamely, warm smile still in place. “Thank you. That really means a lot.”
Even without saying anything, Sami’s face said it all. Yeah, the lighting wasn’t the best, but Nikki knew all too well how he felt. Her situation might not be like his at all, but they both knew how it feels when you fight against the system, that already established a role for you, and you don’t like that role much. “Let me tell you that with how they treat you, you manage just fine. I wish Bryan would of traded you to SmackDown.” The one thing that the Bella Twin would of never believed is that Foley would of traded Sami for Eva Marie. “And you’re welcome. Just…don’t give up. That’s all they’re waiting for to make you feel even more down.”
